Dear Mr. Lawrence,
 敬爱的劳伦斯先生，
      
I have elaborated on my thoughts in the past emails. My opinion still holds: the student who has done this is more than dangerous. I would like to clarify first that my judgement regarding his personality and behavior is not related to my personal background.
 我在过去的邮件中已阐释过我的想法。我仍旧秉持自己的观点：做出这样的事的学生是格外危险的。优先声明，我对于他的人格与行为的评价与我的个人背景无关。
       
As you pointed out in the former message delivered to all the teachers and staffs, he intentionally spoke at the performance stage with a script different from the one he pre-edited with Ms. Mary Fernandes, his English teacher. I trust in Mary's testimony that she knows nothing about this incident.
 您在前一条发给所有教职员工的邮件信息中指出，他刻意在舞台上发表了一场和他与他的英文课教师玛丽·费尔南德斯共同修改的讲稿不同的演说。我相信玛丽在证词中所说，她对此事毫不知情。
      
In other words, we can already see the whole picture of what has happened last Friday. The student abused his right as the Student Council President, gave an unexpected speech to the audience, and walked away with almost no penalty since it was the board of the school which was strongly criticised by massive media.
 换句话说，我们已经能看清上周五所发生的事件的全貌。该名学生滥用他作为校学生会主席的职权，面向观众进行了一场出人意料的演讲，并且最后几乎未受到任何惩罚，因为被媒体大肆批评的对象是学校的委员会。
       
On behalf of the teachers supporting our country and society, who strongly believing in what we are doing as leaders in the education system, I insist in the school's decision of his suspension.
 为了支持我们的国家和社会、坚信我们作为领袖人物在教育系统下的所作所为的教师们，我坚持对该生进行停课处分的校级决定。
       
He is, as explicitly as seen, a time bomb inside the school.
 就像明面上清晰可见的那样，他是一颗埋于校内的定时炸弹。
       
I feel sorry for the child, but we must put the school and all students' safety at first place. Please pass on my words to Mary as I know she was mostly hurt in this sad situation.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen,
 早上好，女士们、先生们。
    
I would like to begin my speech by introducing myself again as the President of the Student Council at the St. Lawrence High School. 
 我希望从再次介绍自己开始进行今天的演讲。我是圣劳伦斯高中的学生会主席，亚姆托夫。
      
My name is Yamtov, and I ran for the President position for nearly one year. This is supposed to be my last speech before stepping down and giving this title to Ronald, who is also a Grade 11 student leading the school's well-known Mystery & Detective club.
 我在学生会内担任主席接近一年。这应该是我卸任，并将这个头衔移交给下一任主席前的最后一次演讲。下一任学生会主席罗纳德也是一名11年级学生，他同时也是本校知名的神秘学与侦探社团的领导者。
    
As I've said, this is my last chance to speak to all of you in public. Thus, I decided not to read my script, but instead, to say everything I think is important when it comes to my mind.

I have been in the school for two years, and was born to this world for seventeen years. I think it's fair to say that I have seen enough to judge on the environment surrounding us. Not only me, but you and I, and the people standing beside and walking past us. 
 我在本校就读两年，也在这个世界上出生十七年。于此，我可以公正地说，我已见过足够的事实，来让我对周遭的环境做一个决断。并非仅是我自己周围，而是你和我，以及站在我们身旁的、从我们身边走过的人们的四周。
    
It is not a bad era to be born in. The world is growing on its own. Economies are blooming, culture are prospering, technology is rapidly develops, and international relations are getting closer and closer. We are still isolated individuals, yet we can see the world beyond our isolation, and communicate with others regardless of the distance.
 我们没有出生于一个坏的时代。世界正自行成长着，各经济体兴盛，各文化繁荣，科技快速发展，国家关系变得越来越紧密相连。我们仍是身处孤立之地的个体，但我们可以看到自身所在以外的世界，和他人无视距离进行交流。
     
However, the border still exists.
 然而，边界依然存在。
     
When we see through the glasses, we can clearly tell there is a wall between us and the true freedom. 
 一旦从玻璃看出去，我们立刻就能清楚，我们与真正的自由仍有一墙之隔。
    
As a normal student at St. Lawrence, I have always believed in the school's manifesto, that we are here to be molded into elite parts for a truly free and strong nation. You and I, as the youth representing the newest generation, should stand on our toes and see as far and wide as we can.
 作为圣劳伦斯的一名普通学生，我一直相信着学校的宣言，那就是我们将在这里被熔铸成一个真正自由和强大的国度的栋梁之材。你和我，作为新生代的青年代表，应当立足于自身，看向我们视线所能及的最远、最广阔的地方。
     
We shall see, we shall observe.
We shall talk, we shall listen.
We shall walk toward the light, and bring down the darkness.
 我们看，我们观察。
 我们说，我们倾听。
 我们走向光明，并将黑暗打倒。
    
It depends on us to change the future. We will set the rules and break the borders when the time comes.
 改变将来与否将取决于我们。当时机到来时，我们将制定规则，打破我们周围的边界。
    
That is all I have to say today since now the only thing we will do is sit and wait.
